Davidson County courts and deadlines
Tell us which court issued the papers, such as Circuit, Chancery, or General Sessions, and any deadline you are working to. Courts and paper types can have their own requirements, so check with your attorney or the court clerk if you are unsure who may serve yours.
Under the Tennessee Rules of Civil Procedure, a summons and complaint may be served by a person who is not a party and is at least 18, and the server must be named on the return (Rule 4.01). A summons not served within 90 days of issuance must be returned with the reasons (Rule 4.03). This is general information, not legal advice.
Turnaround
We offer standard, same-day, and rush process service in Davidson County. Same-day or rush requests depend on document readiness, recipient availability, and location. An attempt does not guarantee successful service.
Proof of service
After delivery, our registered process server completes a signed Affidavit of Service or Proof of Service documenting the attempt, for court filing purposes. Ask what documentation you will receive for the outcome of your assignment.
When the recipient is hard to find
Tell us about previous addresses and attempts. We can discuss whether skip tracing is appropriate to help identify the recipient and verify an address.
What to send us
- The documents to be served and the case or file reference.
- The recipient’s name, service address, and useful identifying details you can lawfully share.
- Any deadline, prior service attempts, and instructions from your attorney or the court.
Submit your request through ServeManager, or call to discuss missing information.
Fees
Ask for a quote based on the service location, urgency, the information available, and whether location research is needed. Confirm the included attempts, any additional charges, and reporting arrangements before work begins.
Can I use you if I am not an attorney?
Yes. We work with individuals as well as attorneys, law firms, and businesses.
